Fluocinolone acetonide is a high-potency synthetic corticosteroid. It is mainly used topically to reduce inflammation, redness and itching caused by various skin conditions.

It acts as an anti-inflammatory and vasoconstrictor and is commonly prescribed for:

Dermatitis: Including atopic dermatitis (eczema), contact, seborrheic and nummular dermatitis.

Psoriasis: Helps reduce skin scaling and inflammation.

Lichen planus and neurodermatitis: Conditions causing scaling and chronic itching.

Use in children should be for the shortest possible time.
